Text Box: Mr. Jon Beard – Chairman 
Jon Beard BEd, MSc is the Head of PE, and the Head of the Senior Year program at Saltus Grammar School. He has been in the former position since 1977. He is married to Jennie, who is also a teacher.  Jon has coached football in the top divisions here in Bermuda, along with the national youth teams. He holds the UEFA "A" License (the highest in Europe). Currently he is the Chairman of the Bermuda Football Association's Technical Committee, the Chairman of the Bermuda Council for Drug Free Sport, the President of BAA Sports Club, and the Chairman of the Bermuda Island Games Association. Jon was responsible for Bermuda's participation in the Island Games, and is passionate about our continued development in these Games.

Text Box: Mr. Jon Gazzard – General Secretary 
Jon Gazzard is General Secretary of the Bermuda Island Games Association, a position that was able to be put in place thanks to a grant from the Bank of Bermuda Foundation.  Jon graduated from Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada, and then returned home to Bermuda in 1998.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 He spent a number of years as Vice President of the Bermuda Volleyball Association, where he was instrumental in the formation of the Men’s and Women’s National Team program, as well as the Association’s registered charity status. Since leaving this post, Jon and Mr. Beard formed the Bermuda Island Games Association and guided Bermuda to its membership in the International Island Games Association and the 2003 Games in Guernsey and 2005 Games in Shetland.  Jon is a current member of the Men’s National Volleyball Team, and along side the BIGA’s Treasurer, Andrew Soares brought home the Silver medal from the 2005 Games in Shetland.  Jon has also donated his time to coach Saltus Grammar School’s Varsity Boy’s Volleyball Team.

Text Box: Mr. Paul Scope—Executive Member
 Paul Scope started his insurance career in 1973 with Norwich Union. He gained both insurance company and broking experience in the British insurance market before moving to Bermuda in 1983. His career included five years with Eagle Star, the leading casualty insurer in the U.K.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 As Insurance Manager for Harnett & Richardson, Paul headed up a Bermuda underwriting agency and brokerage. As Managing Director of Gibbs Harnett & Richardson International Ltd., he was active early in the placing of U.S. risks into the Bermuda-based excess liability and D&O carriers ACE, XL, and CODA.
 In July 1989, Paul launched Park International Limited where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Park soon became one of the leading Bermuda broking houses, with placements to ACE, XL, CODA, XL Re, and other Bermuda markets.                                  Since 2001 he has been Chairman and CEO of The Park Group, which has offices in London, Bermuda, New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago.                                                                                                                                                                                                          Paul is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and is often called upon to speak at various insurance seminars and "industry" sessions.                                                                                                                                                                                                            A former semi-pro soccer player in England and Bermuda, he now coaches at club level and international level.  Since 2004, Paul has been the Assistant National Team Soccer Coach.  He has also been actively involved in other sports including cycling and running.

Text Box: Mrs. Margret Heyliger—Executive Member
 Margret joined the BIGA in Jan 2006.  She was previously a captive management accountant with Aon and a venture capital accountant for Schroders Private Equity.  Margret took an early retirement in an effort to find more time to support her two teenaged daughters’ many sporting interests.  Her eldest, as a gymnast, competed in the 2004 Youth Commonwealth Games where Margret was also Bermuda’s General Team Manager, and most recently at the 2005 Island Games in Shetland where her daughter won 8 medals.  Her youngest, as a swimmer, has competed in the 2005 and 2006 CARIFTA Games while Margret was Team Manager.  Because of the other sports that her children excel at, she has become familiar with and supports other sports such as cross-country, triathlon and various track and field events.                                                                                                                                                                                                      Margret is currently an executive member of the Bermuda Gymnastics Association and the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association.  She is also a committee member of Project 100 which raises funds to support and provide houses for assisted living for Bermuda’s mentally challenged.

Text Box: Mr. Craig Tyrrell—Executive Member 
Craig Tyrrell joined the Executive of the BIGA in 2005. He is currently employed as the Personal Services Manager in the Department of Immigration after working in the telecommunications industry for seven years. An avid sports fan and participant he has been involved in many sports in Bermuda such as sailing, tennis, cricket, bowling and football. Craig played football for the North Village Community Club and later was elected to the club’s executive committee. From there he was elected to serve on the executive of the Bermuda Football Association were he held such posts as Chairman of Cups & Competitions, Special Events and Marketing. He also served as an executive member of YouthNet, a mentoring program for high school students. He is married to Simmonnette and they have two daughters Cimeon and Camryn.

Text Box: Mr. Andrew Soares – Treasurer 
Andrew Soares CPA, ARe, is an Assistant Property Catastrophe Underwriter with PartnerRe Ltd.,  where he has been with the company for four years.  Andrew is married to Jennifer and has two daughters, Samantha and Logan.  Prior to working at PartnerRe, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Bermuda Aviation Services and its numerous subsidiary companies.  He spent several years working for the Bermuda Government at the Department of Airport Operations and prior to that articled with PricewaterhouseCoopers within their audit department.
Andrew is an active sportsman involved with many of the island's sports associations, in particular the Bermuda Volleyball Association where he was President for several years.  He is a current member of the Bermuda Men's National Volleyball Team where he has represented Bermuda in tournaments located in the United States, Canada, Guernsey and Shetland.  Andrew has also donated his time to coach Warwick Academy's Varsity Boy's Volleyball Team.
